Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning according to recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling side dishes, meats and desserts
- Support the cooking team by ensuring all food is cooked properly and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations and storage areas
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene compliance
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing ingredients or assisting with setup as needed
Qualifications
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred
- Previous food industry or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving others
- Basic understanding of menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
