Summary:
The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and Operation of CNC Lathe and Multi-Axis Lathes in order to manufacture aerospace components as per drawing Able to Follow work instructions and Set-up sheets during the set-up and maintain the integrity of the parts as they come of the machine during the production cycle time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Setup CNC Lathes with Faunc Controls and be Proficient on all equipment
· Establish efficient production processes to maintain parts in print tolerance
· Minimum 5 year experience running CNC Lathes
· Operation of CNC lathes and Multi-Axis Lathes on daily basis.
· Inspection of parts as they come of machine.
· Deburring as needed during production.
· Multi-axis setup and Operation
· Fanuc control knowledge
· Vast knowledge of commonly use M and G codes
· Blue print reading 3
· GD & T Level 3
· Able to bore jaws on a 3-Jaw chuck daily requirement
· Must be confident in boring jaws and have knowledge of doing so
· Some tool making
· Follow schedule set by supervisor
· Use micrometers and other precision tools
· Observe machine during operation
· Provide feedback to programming on issues or improvements
· Able to do all Edits at machine
· Knowledge of 5s and Lean Manufacturing
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
· Able to read blue prints
· Able to hold as little as ± .0001 total tolerance
· Excellent attention to detail
· Understanding of MBD
· Understanding of Material properties
· Mentorship skills
· Knowledge of Boeing BAC specs
· Experience in aerospace industry
· Calculations of plating tolerances on diameters and threads
· Knowledge of Microsoft office
· Basic computer skills
· Knowledge of Trigonometry functions
· Language Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret work instructions, drawing and procedure manuals in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in English.
· Mathematical Skills: Strong Geometry knowledge is foundational. Must also be able to convert metric to inch and do decimal to fraction conversions. Must be impeccable with decimal placement.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Completion of Onamac’s aptitude test
Qualifications:
· In order to comply with U.S. government regulations applicable to this position, all applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or a “protected individual”, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)..
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
· 5+ years’ experience including Multi-Axis type work
· High school Diploma
· Any Vocational Training a plus
· College based classes a plus
· Previous OJT
· Willingness to learn
Preferred, but not required
