Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly with a friendly and professional demeanor, making them feel valued from the moment they walk in.
- Manage restaurant reservation systems, including booking, confirming, and updating reservations to optimize seating flow.
- Coordinate seating arrangements by communicating effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing information about wait times and reservation details.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at all times.
- Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and seating adjustments to enhance overall guest satisfaction.
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar customer service role within a restaurant setting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle phone calls professionally and courteously.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest needs efficiently.
- Basic math skills for handling waitlist calculations and billing procedures when necessary.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest comfort and safety.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering exceptional guest services in a fast-paced environment.
