Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, ensuring all departments function efficiently
- Supervise and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and maintain high customer service standards
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, ordering, and stock control procedures
- Implement merchandising strategies to optimize product presentation and store appearance
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
- Manage POS systems, cash handling, and cashiering duties with accuracy and integrity
- Support recruiting efforts through interviewing and onboarding new employees
- Conduct employee orientation, training, and development programs to enhance team performance
- Assist in payroll processing, bookkeeping, and maintaining financial records
- Coordinate marketing activities and promotional campaigns to increase store traffic and sales
- Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare reports for management review
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Skills
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery stores with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math principles
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and suppliers
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Skilled in employee recruitment, training & development, and team management
- Sound knowledge of merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques
- Experience with budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and inventory control
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
- Customer service-oriented mindset with professional phone etiquette and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with wireless sales or marketing is advantageous for specific store categories
