Electrical Estimator / Project Manager
Overview: Join Rise, a growing Pittsburgh contractor with busy and expanding electrical work. As we grow, we're building out our in-house team and looking for an experienced estimator/project manager to play a key role in how we bid and run jobs. This is a ground-floor opportunity with a real path to lead as the electrical side grows — you'll work directly with the owner, have an outsized impact on every project, and help shape where the business goes. Master electrician license a strong plus.
Responsibilities:
- Build accurate, competitive electrical estimates from plans and specs — quantity takeoffs, material and labor pricing, and bid assembly.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, GCs, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify details and keep communication clean.
- Manage procurement — source materials and equipment efficiently while staying within budget.
- Run projects from start to finish: scheduling, subcontractor coordination, change orders, and closeout.
- Oversee execution on-site, ensuring compliance with the NEC, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
- Monitor progress through regular site visits, update schedules, manage change orders, and resolve issues to keep jobs on track.
- Maintain thorough documentation of estimates, contracts, change orders, and project correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience estimating commercial electrical work; field experience strongly preferred.
- Confident reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Working knowledge of electrical estimating and takeoff software (Accubid, ConEst IntelliBid, McCormick, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Solid command of the NEC and standard commercial installation practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once without dropping details or deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients, vendors, contractors, and team members.
- Experience with contracts management a plus.
- Strong time management and a proactive, problem-solving approach in a fast-paced environment.
- PA / Pittsburgh Master electrical licensing a plus.
What we offer:
- Competitive pay based on experience (we'll go over specifics when we meet).
- Benefits, paid license/continuing education, tools and vehicle as needed.
- A real path to lead as the electrical side grows.
