Food Works Management, a Delaware based Food Service Company, has opportunities for a full-time School Food Service Worker in the New Castle, Delaware area to join our team in our Education Division. ** See Below
School Food Service Worker:
This position requires someone who can follow directions, work independently at times and is a team player.
Position Summary: This position assists in the preparation and service of meals for students and staff.
Qualifications: You must have excellent communications skills for both internal and external customers. Must have high standards of sanitation and practices, and a passion for quality food. Requires basic knowledge of food preparation. ServSafe Certification a plus. If there is no certification, we will provide training and testing at no cost to you within 45 days of employment and maintain certification.
Responsibilities: Perform a variety of food service functions while maintaining clean and sanitary conditions. Assist in the preparation of all breakfasts, lunches, and catering. Maintain kitchen equipment in a clean and sanitary manner. Present food in an appealing manner according to the Food Presentation Policy. Serve customers and guests in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner. Follow posted Sanitation Schedule and always ensure a clean and organized work area. Maintain confidentiality of student information and staff employees. Other duties as requested by Shift Supervisor or Food Service Manager. Must complete and participate in Food Works company training, In-Services, Safety and any/all required USDA/DOE training programs.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of basic food service sanitation and proper food handling.
- Ability to use industrial equipment and knowledge of basic equipment maintenance.
- Effective oral communications with management, employees, students, and staff.
- Ability to read menus and recipes.
- Ability to use proper judgement and to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to accept direction and adhere to operating, company and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to stand up 8 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift and push/pull up to 40 pounds.
- Understanding of MSDS and ability to effectively use and maintain chemicals.
- Ability to work within deadlines.
All candidates must submit to a State, FBI Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and Drug Testing.
Work Schedule: Following a school calendar. Monday - Friday day work 6am to 2pm. Days and hours may vary. This is a 10-month paid position. Summers Off.
