Golf Course Superintendent
Reports to: Director of Golf and Grounds
POSITION SUMMARY
Quail Creek is a highly active golf club experiencing continued growth in year-round member play. The two Superintendents work collaboratively, each managing their own course under the direction of the Director of Golf Courses and Grounds.
In this role, the Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all aspects of the course maintenance program. The ideal candidate will excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and thrive as a team player working closely with the leadership team, Board of Directors, and Club Committees.
This position requires a high level of expertise, with the ability to maintain consistent and timely workflows. In partnership with the Quail Creek leadership team, the Superintendent must bring an innovative mindset, strong drive, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and outstanding organizational abilities.
Responsibilities
· Maintain the golf course and property
· Work together with other golf course superintendent in supervising, scheduling, training, and overseeing maintenance team members including assistant superintendents, irrigation techs, spray techs, horticulturist, equipment operators
· Create an efficient team and efficient maintenance practices to continually improve playing conditions and work force
· Improve course details
· Use tools given to train and enforce safety practices
· Keep detailed records of daily tasks and chemical/fert applications
· Carry out the goals set forth by the club and Director of Golf Courses and Grounds
· Employee management- onboarding, offboarding, performing employee annual reviews
· Perform other duties as directed by Director of Golf Courses & Grounds
Education Requirements
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field, or equivalent certification
· Valid pesticide applicator’s license, or willingness to obtain one within 90 days of hire
· Working knowledge of the game of golf
· Spanish language skills are a plus
Experience Requirements
- 2 years of crew management
- 4 years of golf course experience
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
