Build a High-Income Career in Technical, In-Home Sales
Rooftop Chimney Sweeps is hiring a motivated, professional communicator who wants to develop a valuable combination of technical knowledge, inspection skills, and consultative sales ability.
This is not a desk-based sales position, cold-calling role, or door-to-door opportunity. You will meet with homeowners who have already scheduled an appointment with us, inspect their chimney or fireplace system, explain your findings, and help them choose the right solution for their home.
No chimney experience is required. We provide structured technical and sales training.
However, this role is not easy. It requires physical work, consistent study, strong communication, attention to detail, and the confidence to guide homeowners through significant purchasing decisions.
The right person can build a long-term career with substantial earning potential.
The First 8 Weeks:
What You’ll Become Week 1: Pass/Fail – Roof & Ladder Training
You will get on roofs immediately.
About half of people realize this isn’t for them and quit. That’s by design.
- You’ll learn ladder safety and roof movement
- You’ll face real physical discomfort and risk (safely managed)
- You’ll decide quickly if this environment is for you
Outcome:
If you pass this week, you’ve already separated yourself from 50% of candidates.
Week 2: Sales Foundations
You’ll learn how to interact with customers at a high level.
- How to control a conversation
- How to ask the right questions
- How to uncover real problems (not surface-level ones)
- How to build trust quickly
Outcome:
You begin thinking differently than the average salesperson.
Week 3: Sales System (Overload Phase)
This is where most people struggle.
You’ll learn our full sales process:
- Inspection
- Diagnosis
- Education
- Recommendation
- Close
It will feel like a lot. That’s intentional.
Outcome:
If you push through this week, you are already operating above most people in this industry.
Week 4: Sales Execution
This is where things start to click.
- You’ll build real proposals
- You’ll practice presenting options
- You’ll run full sales scenarios repeatedly
- You’ll begin learning how to close
Outcome:
You move from “understanding sales” to actually being able to execute.
Weeks 5–6: Field Training (Ride-Alongs)
You’ll work directly with top-performing reps in the field.
- Watch real customer interactions
- See how professionals handle objections
- Understand pacing, tone, and control
- Begin participating in real appointments
Outcome:
You see what elite performance actually looks like in real life.
Weeks 7–8: Controlled Takeover
You start running the appointment.
- You lead conversations
- You present findings
- You walk customers through options
- You begin closing deals
Your trainer is still with you—but you are in control.
Outcome:
You begin operating as a real sales professional.
Week 9+: You’re Live
You are now running your own truck and managing your own pipeline.
At this point:
- You are earning based on your performance
- You are responsible for your results
- You are building a high-value, transferable skill
Training continues:
- Weekly coaching
- Daily skill repetition
- Ongoing product and technical education
What You Get Out of This
- A proven path to $150k+ income (top performers significantly higher)
- A skillset that translates across industries
- Real-world experience in high-value sales
- A team that expects high performance and supports growth
Who Succeeds Here
- Competitive people
- Fast learners
- People who take ownership of results
- People who want to be excellent, not average
This Role May Not Be a Fit If You:
- Want a desk or remote sales position
- Are uncomfortable on ladders and roofs
- Need constant direction to stay productive
- Resist coaching and direct feedback
- Struggle to follow the process
- Avoid difficult or uncomfortable customer conversations
- Are not willing to study and develop technical knowledge on your own time
- Prefer predictable hourly earnings over performance-based compensation
Final Thought
You will know very quickly whether this is for you.
If it is, this can change your income, your confidence, and your trajectory.
If it’s not, you’ll still walk away with skills most people never develop.
