About the Job
An admissions team member is responsible for maintaining a positive, helpful attitude and approach in providing excellent customer service to all customers which includes families, learners (kids), referral sources, physicians, sales representatives, and fellow coworkers.
Responsibilities
Maintain communication with families/caregivers and pediatrician offices
Prepare referrals, gathers all necessary information about referrals, patient demographics, contact person, physician, diagnosis and medical records
Verifies eligibility and coverage with insurance carrier and obtains authorization for services
Informs patients of financial responsibilities.
Enters data for each referral (new or otherwise) in system accurately and timely manner
Maintain a professional, safe and clean work environment.
Requirements
Excellent Customer Service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience in healthcare, medical and/or HME industry preferred
Be able to work on multiple tasks (and prioritize active referrals)
