American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL RN license, Trauma 2+ experience, and EPIC charting proficiency.

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
-
13-week contract assignment
-
Night shift schedule from 1:00PM-1:00AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
-
Every other weekend shift required
-
Rotating holiday coverage required
-
2-week nights rotation required of all travelers
-
No block scheduling available
-
On-call requirement of 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, with expectation to be onsite within one hour of call

Uses EPIC EMR system
-
Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)

TNCC certification preferred
-
Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience required

ASN required, BSN preferred
-
Trauma Level 2 or higher experience required
-
EPIC charting experience required

Serve as a professional caregiver responsible for a designated group of ED patients, utilizing the nursing process and clinical judgment

Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families

Implement and modify care plans based on continuous patient assessment and evolving needs
-
Maintain accurate, up-to-date nursing documentation to support care coordination
-
Uphold patient and staff safety standards, including identifying and reporting safety hazards
-
Communicate and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families to promote a healing environment
-
Provide constructive feedback to peers to support professional development
-
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

RTO limited to a maximum of 7 total days during the 13-week contract
