Job Summary
The Youth Coordinator organizes, plans, and delivers programs and services for youth at risk within the City of Westlake. Under the supervision of the Director of Community Services, this role serves as a key liaison to the Westlake Police Department for the Westlake Diversion Program. Facilitates youth volunteer engagement and intergenerational programming that strengthens community connections and promotes inclusive participation. Responsibilities include assessments, diversion support, community service coordination, interagency collaboration, and social service referrals. The position also supports major community initiatives such as the Adopt A Family/Adult program. This role is ideal for a compassionate, organized professional committed to supporting youth and strengthening families.

Juvenile Court & Diversion Support
- Juvenile assessments — Assess juveniles prior to CCJC hearing dates.
- Magistrate communication — Respond to Magistrates as appropriate.
- Diversion hearings — Attend diversion hearings; coordinate community service and other sanctions.
- Family referrals — Offer referrals for juveniles and their families.
Youth & Community Programming
- Interagency coordination — Serve as the City’s liaison to Westlake City Schools, Recreation, social service agencies, and the Police Department
- Outreach programs — Coordinate positive outreach programs for community youth, including intergenerational programming.
- Social service referrals — Provide referrals requiring social services for children and adolescents.
- Documentation — Prepare documentation for departments and partner organizations.
Adopt A Family/Adult Program
- Program administration — Administer the Adopt A Family/Adult program: gather client information, assign gifts to donors, track requests, distribute gifts, and prepare correspondence.
- Home visits — Accompany the Outreach Coordinator on home visits as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education requirement — Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, sociology, or related field; Counselor or Social Work license preferred.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license.
- Juvenile services experience preferred — Experience in juvenile intervention, community based client services, or related fields.
