Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Pipe Welder / Combination Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welding and fabrication of piping systems, utilizing a variety of welding techniques such as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). Your expertise will ensure that all pipe assemblies meet strict industry standards, blueprints, and safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, demonstrating mechanical knowledge and precision in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately execute pipe welding projects.
- Perform welding on metal materials, including ductwork, sheet metal, and piping systems, adhering to ASME codes & standards and AWS (American Welding Society) guidelines.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to ensure precise cuts and welds.
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, and hand tools safely and efficiently during fabrication and assembly processes.
- Fabricate pipe sections and assemblies by cutting, fitting, welding, and inspecting welds for quality assurance.
- Maintain strict safety protocol adherence at all times while working on construction sites or in fabrication shops.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure mechanical fabrication meets project specifications within designated timelines.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of pipe welding techniques across various environments.
- Hands-on experience with crane operation for lifting heavy materials during fabrication or installation phases.
- Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, hand tools, power tools, and shop math for precise measurements.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, ASME codes & standards, and mechanical blueprints for accurate fabrication.
- Experience with multiple welding processes including FCAW, MIG welding, TIG welding, SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding.
- Background in sheet metal fabrication and ductwork assembly within a fabrication shop or construction setting.
- Knowledge of safety protocols specific to welding environments and construction sites to ensure a safe working atmosphere.
