- Devoid of compounding lab work. No transfers available into the compounding lab from this position, due to the differing skill sets that are required.
Duties of the Pharmacy Customer Service Associate may include the following (through the supervision of the pharmacist only):
- Manage new prescriptions from receipt through patient authorization, while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with pharmacy policies and applicable regulations.
- Contact patients by telephone and sms to obtain authorization to fill new and refill prescriptions, discuss cost, obtain payment information, and assign timeline for processing.
- Document patient, pharmacy, and prescriber interactions accurately and completely within pharmacy information systems.
- Communicate professionally with patients, prescribers, and pharmacy staff to facilitate timely prescription processing and resolution of issues.
- Protect confidential health information and maintain compliance with HIPAA, company policies, state pharmacy regulations, and quality-assurance standards.
- Maintain established productivity, accuracy, call-quality, and customer-service standards in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
Requirements: Customer Service Experience, Sales or similar medical health experience. Bilingual English (Read, Written and Spoken) and Spanish (Read, Write and Spoken)
License: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida is not required but a plus.
Training: Upon being hired, the pharmacy will train on related jobs, such as learning the pharmacy computer system, handling of prescriptions, taking/making phone calls, Updating patient information, and HIPAA.
Salaries will be discussed during the final interview.
