Press Brake - Sheet Metal
Quality Tool’s St. Paul’s location is experiencing significant growth and is seeking a skilled precision sheet metal press brake set-up operator.
Quality Tool has openings for the below:
*1st shift: Monday - Thursday 5:30AM to 4:00PM
*2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday 3:30PM to 2:00AM
*Weekend Shift: Friday - Sunday 5:00AM to 5:30PM
The sheet metal Press Brake position at Quality Tool offers you a solid company where you can establish long-term employment that will offer growth and opportunity. Quality Tool has some of the latest technology in press bakes in the Amada® HDS and ATC press brakes, along with CNC controlled & programmable Cincinnati press brakes and Salvagnini Panel Bender.
Responsibilities:
- Set-up and run forming operations with tolerances of +/- .005” to +/- .030” on .020” to .187” thick sheet metal
- Set up and operate CNC press brakes to produce precision sheet metal components
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Make adjustments to maintain dimensional and angular tolerances
- Document inspections and setup information
- Troubleshoot forming issues and work closely with Engineering and Quality as needed
- Safely handle materials and maintain an organized work space
- The nature of the work is a mix of small to medium quantity runs with frequent set-ups
Desired Qualifications
- Three + years of experience in sheet metal press brake set-up and operations.
- Ability to independently set up and run close-tolerance parts with minimal supervision
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Experience using calipers, height gauges, squares, protractors, and other inspection equipment
- Working knowledge of sheet metal forming principles
- Experience with CNC-controlled press brakes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Demonstrated use of measuring tools, calipers and height gauges
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawing
- Good attendance and punctuality and willingness to work overtime as needed
- Able to stand continuously and lift 50 pounds occasionally
