Landscaping Worx, LLC is a commercial landscape construction company specializing in large-scale commercial, federal, military, and government projects throughout the Southeast.
Our work includes landscape installation, irrigation, grading, sod and seeding, trees and plants, mulch, hardscapes, erosion-control components, and contract-required landscape establishment.
Position Summary
The Landscape Construction Project Manager will manage assigned projects from contract award through completion and closeout. This position is responsible for project schedules, budgets, purchasing, documentation, field coordination, quality control, client communication, and overall project profitability.
The Project Manager will work closely with general contractors, government representatives, superintendents, crew leaders, suppliers, subcontractors, and Landscaping Worx leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review contracts, scopes of work, plans, specifications, proposals, and project requirements.
- Develop project schedules, production goals, staffing plans, and procurement schedules.
- Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, deliveries, subcontractors, and site access.
- Monitor project budgets, labor hours, production rates, costs, and profitability.
- Maintain cost-to-complete projections and assist with Work-in-Progress reporting.
- Prepare and manage change orders, Requests for Information, submittals, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate billing, pay applications, purchasing, and vendor invoices.
- Attend preconstruction, progress, coordination, safety, and closeout meetings.
- Communicate project updates to clients, general contractors, field leadership, and company management.
- Visit jobsites regularly to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Resolve field issues involving grading, utilities, drainage, irrigation, access, plant locations, and materials.
- Manage inspections, punch lists, warranties, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and final closeout.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA, EM 385-1-1, USACE, military, and general-contractor requirements.
Required Qualifications
- At least FIVE YEARS of project-management experience in landscape construction, civil/sitework, irrigation, or a related field.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, labor, materials, subcontractors, change orders, and client relationships.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
- Understanding of job costing, project forecasting, production tracking, and profitability.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PDF-markup software, and construction-management systems.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel, including overnight travel.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications, or the ability to obtain them within the timeframe established by Landscaping Worx.
Preferred Qualifications
- Federal, military, government, or USACE construction experience.
- Commercial landscape installation, irrigation, grading, turf, planting, or hardscape knowledge.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, LMN, or similar construction software.
- Experience with prevailing-wage projects, federal submittals, certified payroll coordination, government pay applications, and project closeout.
- Degree in construction management, landscape construction, horticulture, civil engineering, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an office and on active construction sites.
- Ability to walk uneven jobsites and work in changing weather conditions.
- Ability to bend, climb, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to drive to projects throughout Georgia and other Southeastern states.
