Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that our bakery department operates smoothly and efficiently while providing exceptional service to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a willingness to learn and grow within our bakery environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of baked goods, including measuring, mixing, and baking ingredients according to recipes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and safe for food preparation.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Support the team by cleaning dishes, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Follow all food handling guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of products served.
- Collaborate with other team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or a grocery store bakery/deli department is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and sanitation practices is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying items as needed.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to providing excellent customer service are essential traits for success in this role.
