Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence
- Support patient observation and monitor health status by tracking vital signs, medication administration, and overall condition updates
- Help with meal preparation and feeding to ensure nutritional needs are met in a safe manner
- Facilitate patient transfers using manual handling techniques or equipment like Hoyer lifts to ensure safety during mobility assistance
- Maintain accurate care plans and document resident progress, changes in condition, and incident reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities to enhance mental and emotional well-being
- Support residents with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, or neurodevelopmental disorders
Requirements
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
- Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, manual handling procedures, and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to hospice care or dementia support are a plus
- Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while maintaining a compassionate attitude toward residents’ individual needs
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, assist with transfers, and provide personal transportation assistance when needed
