Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction equipment and trucks to ensure optimal performance and safety. Pay range listed is typical starting however we pay is based off experience.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment such as Loader, Dozers, Excavators, Rollers, ATD, Trucks, Sweepers, including but not limited to: John Deere, Kubtoa, Tymco, Cat, Mack trucks, Frieghtline, Vovlo, Dodge pick ups etc.
- Perform detailed equipment inspections and preventative maintenance following OEM specifications.
- Ability to work outside.
- Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to accurately assess equipment condition and repair needs.
- Complete maintenance records with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns in the field or yard as needed and maintain a high sense of urgency on customer related requests.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and other team members regarding equipment status and required repairs and adhere to all policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.
- Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
- Participate in special projects or other work as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- 1+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or diesel technician, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment including those listed above.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems and the ability to effectively troubleshoot in these areas.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics, and diagnostic codes
- Willingness to work after hours or weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. climb, bend, and work in the presence of loud machinery in various outdoor conditions and at elevated heights.
- Ability to understand and abide by all Company and Site safety policies.
- A full complement of industry-standard tools.
Preferred:
- Completion of a certified trade program or technical degree in heavy equipment or diesel mechanics
- OSHA 10/30 or other safety certifications
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
