Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Day Shift
- Shift: 5:45 AM – 6:15 PM (12-Hour Continental Shift)
- Schedule: Work 3 days one week and 4 days the following week, with every other weekend off. Overtime may be required.
- Pay Rate: $37.43 – $39.85/hour (based on experience)
Night Shift
- Shift: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM (12-Hour Continental Shift)
- Schedule: Work 3 days one week and 4 days the following week, with every other weekend off. Overtime may be required.
- Pay Rate: $36.34 – $39.85/hour + $2.00/hour shift differential (based on experience)
We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanic I to join our maintenance team in Elk Grove Village, IL. Reporting to the Plant Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanic I to join our maintenance team in Elk Grove Village, IL. Reporting to the Plant Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all plant safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safe machine operation practices.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical specifications, and manuals.
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, contactors, relays, and electrical control systems.
- Use multimeters and other diagnostic equipment to verify component functionality.
- Maintain and repair chillers, compressors, process pumps, ink pumps, and glue pumps.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment and industrial motor control systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, routine repairs, and equipment calibrations.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend long-term solutions.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage within the CMMS system.
- Assist with spare parts inventory management and parts room organization.
- Repair and maintain production equipment and facility systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, audits, safety programs, and team activities.
- Maintain safe operating conditions for all equipment and work areas.
- Wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
Required:
- Industrial manufacturing or military maintenance experience.
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and industrial motor controls.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities during off-shift hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working on lifts.
- Willingness to work rotating schedules, overtime, and weekends as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with blown film, sheet extrusion, flexographic printing, lamination, slitting, or related manufacturing equipment.
- Forklift certification or operating experience.
- Experience using CMMS systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing systems.
