Physical Therapist – Fighter Pilot Human Performance (OHWS)
Overview
Threat Management Group is seeking qualified professionals to support the U.S. Air Force Optimizing the Human Weapon System (OHWS) program. This embedded multidisciplinary program focuses on preserving fighter pilot health, improving mission readiness, preventing musculoskeletal injuries, and optimizing long-term performance.

Position Summary
Provide embedded physical therapy services to fighter aircrew, emphasizing injury prevention, pre-habilitation, post-flight recovery, performance optimization, and coordination with Flight Medicine.
Required Qualifications
· Current State Licensed Physical Therapist.
· Degree from an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited institution specifically for Physical Therapy.
· Minimum three years specialized experience supporting Block 30 F-16 high-G tactical fighter aircrew.
· NSCA or USAWA strength and conditioning certification.
· Minimum one year of clinical experience.
· Current CPR/AED certification.
· Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) certification with minimum two years applying BFR protocols.
· Dry Needling certification with minimum two years clinical experience.
· Demonstrated sustained experience with elite athlete populations.
· Ability to obtain and maintain installation access.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Conduct initial evaluations within required timelines.
· Develop individualized pre-habilitation and performance plans.
· Provide ergonomic assessments, remedial training, and post-flight treatments.
· Coordinate with Flight Medicine while maintaining confidential electronic records.
· Produce required monthly reports and documentation.
· Support video-teleconference appointments when appropriate.
· Provide subject matter expertise in musculoskeletal injury prevention and performance optimization.
Work Schedule
Tuesday through Friday with one Regularly Scheduled Drill weekend each month. Schedule adjustments may be required to support flying operations.
Travel
Travel may be required as needed to meet mission requirements.
Additional Requirements
· Ability to demonstrate prescribed exercises and lift/manipulate loads up to 25 kilograms.
· Complete all required installation onboarding and training.
· Maintain all certifications required by the PWS.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
