About This Role
We're looking for a reliable and adaptable Substitute Teacher to fill in for our daycare classrooms when needed. As a key support staff, the ideal candidate will help maintain a secure, supportive, and engaging environment for young children, ensuring daily routines and activities run smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher. This role requires supervising children, assisting with age-appropriate learning activities, supporting social and emotional development, and following established lesson plans and center policies. Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for early childhood care are essential.
What You'll Do

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.

Maintain daily classroom routines, schedules, and behavior expectations.

Implement lesson plans and activities provided by the lead teacher or director.

Engage children in age-appropriate educational, play, and creative activities.

Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and nap time as needed.

Monitor and support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs.

Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques.

Communicate effectively with daycare staff regarding classroom needs or concerns.

Follow all center policies, state regulations, and health and safety procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
Requirements

At least 2 credits or one noncredit, department-approved course in early childhood education before completing 240 cumulative hours of work as a substitute.

Is at least 18 years of age.
