Diverse Agile Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Applications Developer (Operations & Support) to support the Federal Reserve Board's Division of Research and Statistics (R&S) within the Industrial Output (IO) Section.
This position plays a critical role in modernizing the technology infrastructure supporting the Federal Reserve's G.17 Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization (IP/CU) statistical release—one of the Board's most important monthly economic publications.
The selected candidate will work closely with economists, data engineers, analysts, and software developers to migrate legacy systems built on FAME to modern development platforms using Python, R, SQL, DuckDB, and other emerging technologies. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while contributing to high-impact economic research and data modernization initiatives.
- Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting the Federal Reserve's Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization (IP/CU) program.

Modernize legacy FAME-based software and data infrastructure using modern programming languages and database technologies.

Develop scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions following established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.

Analyze complex business and technical requirements and translate them into software solutions.

Create software designs, logic flow diagrams, block diagrams, and technical specifications.

Develop reusable software components and support software architecture improvements.

Perform software testing, debugging, validation, and production support.

Produce program-level and end-user documentation.

Review existing applications and recommend performance improvements and modernization strategies.

Coordinate production file transfers and validation activities with Board IT and the Public Information Office.

Support software configuration management and release processes.

Collaborate with economists, analysts, researchers, and external contractors to ensure successful monthly production releases.

Utilize modern development tools, automation technologies, AI-assisted development tools, and coding assistants where appropriate while maintaining system reliability and quality.

Ensure timely delivery of mission-critical software supporting monthly Federal Reserve statistical publications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Economics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience.

Strong experience developing enterprise applications throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
