Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Construction Traveling Superintendent to lead and oversee multiple construction projects across various locations for mulitple GC/CM. This role is vital in ensuring that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction management experience, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strong understanding of federal and commercial construction regulations. As a Traveling Superintendent, you will coordinate with project teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety protocols while maintaining excellent communication with all stakeholders. Salary: $95,000 - $180,000
Duties
- Lead and supervise construction crews across multiple job sites, ensuring adherence to project schedules and safety standards
- Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to guide project execution
- Coordinate construction schedules using Primavera P6, Construction scheduling software, and other project management tools to meet deadlines
- Manage subcontractor performance, oversee quality control measures, and ensure compliance with contracts and specifications
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safety practices in accordance with OSHA and federal construction safety regulations
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and Primavera to track progress, document issues, and update project documentation
- Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, vendors, and management to resolve issues promptly and keep projects on track
- Review construction budgets, assist with estimating processes, and manage project costs effectively
- Supervise the review of technical schematics and ensure proper interpretation of technical drawings for accurate implementation
- Oversee construction site safety programs including toolbox talks, safety audits, and incident investigations
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, industry standards, and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial construction management roles with a strong background in supervising teams on large-scale projects
- Extensive knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety requirements
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Primavera P3 (Primavera), HeavyBid or equivalent estimating tools
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret complex technical information accurately
- Strong skills in project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Hands-on experience with construction site safety management practices including OSHA compliance training
- Excellent managerial communication skills for supervising crews and coordinating with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to travel frequently between project sites across different regions or states as required
- Valid certifications such as OSHA 30-hour or 500-hour training preferred; relevant licenses or certifications related to heavy civil or commercial construction highly desirable
