Position Overview
We’re seeking motivated, respectful, detail-oriented Mortuary Transport Technicians in Lima, OH (ONLY) You will respond to calls from hospitals, nursing homes, residences, and coroner offices to safely and professionally transport decedents to designated facilities. This role offers clear pathways to management and leadership positions as operations grow.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to removal calls with professionalism and compassion
- Safely transport decedents from homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, and accident scenes
- Maintain confidentiality and respect for families and partner facilities
- Complete documentation, mileage logs, and chain-of-custody forms accurately
- Keep company vehicles clean and ready
- Operate equipment and vehicles safely and responsibly
- Communicate efficiently with dispatch and management on call status
Qualifications
- 21+ years old with valid driver’s license and clean background and driving record
- Able to lift and maneuver up to 300 lbs with assistance
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior funeral, EMS, law enforcement, Fire Fighter experience is recommended but not required. Training is provided
- Calm and composed in sensitive situations
Compensation
- $2,500 – $4,000 per month (average)
- $60.00 per transport
- $1.00 per loaded mile after 20 miles
- Additional pay opportunities for on-call coverage and leadership roles
Schedule
- Full-time: 24/5 on-call rotation (Monday–Friday)
- Part-time: 24/2–3 on-call rotation (weekend or flexible scheduling)
- Consistent workload from local funeral homes and county agencies
