Overview
Sophie S Zheng, P.C., an established and growing CPA firm is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Tax Accountant to assist with tax preparation, compliance, and accounting functions. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical tax knowledge while working with individuals, businesses, and trusts. The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting, strong analytical skills, and a desire to build a career in public accounting.
Job Responsibilities:
· Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses under supervision.
· Gather, organize, and analyze financial information and tax documents.
· Assist with tax planning and tax compliance projects.
· Prepare tax workpapers and supporting schedules.
· Research basic tax issues and document findings.
· Reconcile general ledger accounts and review financial records.
· Assist with bookkeeping and accounting adjustments related to tax return preparation.
· Communicate with clients to request information and resolve questions.
· Maintain client files and ensure compliance with firm procedures and deadlines.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum Accounting GPA of 3.4.
· Must have excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Commit to service and excellence.
· Professional appearance and manner.
· Proficient in MS Office.
· Require overtime during tax season.
· Candidate that has previous experience in tax area is strongly preferred, but not required.
· Licensed CPA/CPA exam eligible or previous experience preferred
