Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and schedule appointments using dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X-rays, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Meditech or eClinicalWorks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies.
- Handle administrative duties including insurance verification, billing, coding with CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, and processing medical collections efficiently.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments, and respond promptly to patient inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while managing filing of dental records and documentation review for accuracy.
- Support office management tasks such as inventory control, appointment reminders, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools.
Experience
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred, with familiarity in dental terminology and medical billing practices.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms is essential.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, Medicare procedures, and health information management standards.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
- Experience with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing, and documentation review enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Excellent computer skills combined with clerical experience in a healthcare setting will help you excel at managing electronic health records and administrative tasks.
