Job Summary
Join our team as a medical scribe/assistant where you will be working closely with a provider in our fast paced private practice.
Duties
- Transcribe physician-patient interactions in real-time, ensuring precise and comprehensive medical documentation
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), updating patient charts with accurate data
- Assist clinicians by capturing detailed notes on patient histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records
- Support the medical team by verifying the accuracy of medical records and ensuring proper organization of documentation
- Use medical terminology and physiology knowledge to accurately interpret clinical notes and translate them into structured records
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify information when necessary and ensure completeness of documentation
- Demonstrate proficiency in typing and transcription skills to meet fast-paced clinical demands
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR systems is essential for efficient record management
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical procedures
- Experience with medical transcription or related documentation tasks is advantageous
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and confidentiality policies is required
- Emergency room experience or exposure to fast-paced clinical environments is a plus
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE IN MEDICAL CODING
