We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our growing Cardiology practice! This role works directly with our practice providers, the hospital and patients to schedule all outpatient procedures.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsible for all procedures to be scheduled for CHV. Will also confirm all procedure appointments, educating patients if necessary, and communicate with the catheterization lab doctors regarding their schedules. Other duties may include verifying insurance & backing up PSR department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Scheduling new patient or established patient procedures
2. CV lab testing appointments for CHV
3. Catheter lab Procedure scheduling for CHV
4. All cardiovascular procedure scheduling
5. Communication and coordination with catheterization laboratory physicians and staff
6. Verify demographics and insurances with patients
7. Provide courtesy and compassion with all patients, vendors, staff or physicians
8. Confirm all procedure appointments
9. Understand and implement clinic policies and procedures.
10. Other duties as assigned
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowledge of CHV’s procedures and systems
2. Knowledge of computer systems and applications
3. Utilize appropriate grammar, spelling and punctuation
4. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public
5. Communicate and present information effectively
6. Identify problems and work to find appropriate solutions
PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone and other office equipment. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight correctable to 20/20 vision to be able to read messages and appointments in the computer. Requires basic knowledge of word processing and e-mail software programs.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment. Involves frequent contact with physicians, staff, consultants and patients. Work may be stressful at times.
TEAMWORK: The success of CHV is based upon every member working together to help the team accomplish its goal. Teamwork requires cooperation and a group effort. When CHV’s goals are achieved, the individual team members will also benefit.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience in reception/heavy phone work. Medical office background required.
