General Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Porter/Maintenance Worker to join our team. A dependable, and hardworking team member responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall curb appeal of NWV Group properties. The Porter performs daily groundskeeping, light maintenance, trash removal, and property support duties to ensure communities remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain property grounds by picking up litter, debris, and pet waste.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of bulk items as directed.
- Sweep, blow, and keep sidewalks, breezeways, parking lots, and common areas clean.
- Assist with basic landscaping including weeding, watering, and light pruning.
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, touch- up painting, and minor repairs.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with apartment turns and maintenance projects.
- Report safety hazards, vandalism, or maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain storage areas, and supplies in an organized manner.
- Comply with all Fair Housing and Equal Housing Opportunity requirements.
- Provide courteous customer service to residents, vendors, and coworkers.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous porter, janitorial, groundskeeping, or maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and ownership of an insured, reliable vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
- Proficiency with AppFolio, and general computing skills preferred.
- Professional appearance with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and safe work practices.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and integrity.
- Take initiative to solve problems.
