About the Role
Tech Safety Lines, Inc. (TSL) is seeking a full-time Instructor/Trainer to join our permanent training staff in Dallas. We’ve built a team we’re genuinely proud of — instructors who care deeply about the student experience and who’ve earned a reputation as some of the best in the business. This role will teach across TSL’s full course catalog, with a strong focus on our Global Wind Organization (GWO) training offerings — including Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), Advanced Rescue Training (ART), and other GWO modules.
We’re looking for someone with hands-on wind turbine industry experience, a genuine passion for teaching, and the presence to engage and energize a classroom of adult learners — many of whom are experienced tradespeople and safety professionals. If you’re looking to do some of the most meaningful work of your career alongside a team that takes real pride in its craft, we’d love to talk.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver GWO-accredited training across the full course catalog — Basic Safety Training (BST), Basic Technical Training (BTT), Advanced Rescue Training (ART), and other GWO modules, as well as TSL’s broader course offerings
- Plan, prepare, and adapt lesson delivery to fit varied class sizes, skill levels, and site conditions
- Facilitate hands-on practical training exercises, including rescue scenarios, fall protection systems, and rigging/rope access equipment
- Maintain a safe, professional, and engaging classroom and field training environment
- Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive, accurate feedback aligned to GWO and OSHA/ANSI standards
- Maintain and complete required training documentation, certifications, and recordkeeping
- Travel to client sites and training facilities as needed (up to ~25%)
- Collaborate with other instructors, curriculum developers, and TSL leadership to continuously improve course materials and delivery methods
- Stay current on GWO standards, wind industry best practices, and relevant regulatory changes
- Support onboarding or mentorship of new or contract instructors as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience working in the wind turbine/wind energy industry (technician, safety, or operations background strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience teaching, training, instructing, or facilitating — formal classroom experience preferred, but strong informal mentoring/training backgrounds will be considered
- Experience teaching wind industry safety or technical content; formal GWO certification is a plus but not required — TSL will support certification for the right candidate
- A dynamic, engaging personality with the ability to command a room and adapt teaching style to different audiences
- Strong team orientation — comfortable collaborating with a diverse instructor staff, including contract instructors from public safety/fire-rescue backgrounds
- Solid working knowledge of fall protection, rescue, and rigging equipment and techniques
- Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort with hands-on, kinesthetic teaching methods
- Physical ability to perform and demonstrate at-height and rescue training tasks
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client/training sites as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GWO course content, standards, and topics — whether through formal instruction, hands-on training experience, or time working in GWO-compliant environments
- Experience with curriculum development or training material design
- Familiarity with OSHA and ANSI safety standards as they apply to working at height, fall protection, and industrial/wind energy environments
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or mentorship experience
