About the role
We are a busy truck and trailer repair shop looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic / Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of commercial trucks and trailers. What you'll do
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on Class 6–8 trucks and trailers
Perform DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet federal and state compliance standards
Service and repair brakes, suspension, steering, air systems, and electrical components
Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid services
Repair trailer bodies, landing gear, kingpins, doors, and undercarriage components
Use diagnostic software and tools to identify fault codes and troubleshoot engine and powertrain issues
Maintain accurate and detailed repair records and work orders
Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with shop safety standards
What we're looking for
2–5 years of hands-on experience working on commercial trucks and/or trailers
Familiarity with DOT inspection procedures and federal vehicle safety regulations
Ability to diagnose issues independently and work with minimal supervision
Must supply your own basic hand tools
Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus but not required
Reliable, punctual, and a team player with a strong work ethic
Nice to have
ASE certifications (Medium/Heavy Truck)
Experience with refrigeration units (reefer trailers)
Welding experience (MIG or stick)
Familiarity with Cummins, Detroit, Paccar, or other major diesel engines
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
