REQUIRED PRESCREEN QUESTIONS
Applicants must answer every question with a specific example from work they personally performed. General or textbook answers will not be considered.
- Describe how you would inspect a machined valve body with a drawing tolerance of ±0.0002 inch. Identify the instruments, standards, datums and inspection sequence you would use.
- Describe a time you personally measured and verified a machined component to 0.0001-inch accuracy. Include:
- Employer
- Component
- Drawing dimension and tolerance
- Analog instrument used
- How the instrument was set or zeroed
- Actual measurement
- Acceptance or rejection decision
- Explain how you personally set up an inspection to check runout, concentricity or cylindricity on a shaft or turbine component. Identify the V-blocks, surface plate, height gauge, dial indicator, fixtures or other equipment used.
- Describe a nonconformance you discovered during source or final inspection. Explain what you did from discovery through containment, documentation, verification, MRB/engineering review and final disposition.
- When reviewing a drawing containing GD&T callouts, how do you determine which features are critical and select the appropriate inspection method? Provide a real work example.
- This position inspects machined metal components as well as gaskets and O-rings. How would your inspection approach differ between hard machined parts and soft goods?
- Describe your experience in a high-mix, low-volume production environment where backlog reduction was a priority. How did you maintain inspection accuracy while meeting throughput goals?
- Describe a specific application where you used a Keyence IM-8000, Keyence LJ-8000, VICI Vision or another optical measurement system. What measurements were performed, and what advantage did the system provide?
- Confirm whether you have personally used each of the following:
- Analog/manual micrometers
- Analog bore gauges
- Tri-mics or three-point internal micrometers
- Depth micrometers
- Dial indicators
- Height gauges
- Ring gauges
- Pin or plug gauges
- Are you a U.S. citizen, able to pass a drug test and background check, and willing to work fully onsite in Summerville, SC?
