Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Job Description:
PrideStaff is seeking an experienced Asbestos Abatement Supervisor for an immediate opening with a local and growing company. The Asbestos Abatement Supervisor will oversee field crews during asbestos abatement projects, including removal, encapsulation, and enclosure of asbestos-containing materials. The Asbestos Abatement Supervisor will ensure the work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OSHA, EPA, Georgia EPD regulations, and company standards. The ideal Asbestos Abatement Supervisor has at least two years of asbestos abatement, mitigation, restoration or construction experience and current EPA/AHERA asbestos worker accreditation. The Asbestos Abatement Supervisor is a full-time, direct hire position in Marietta, GA.
Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Daily On-Site Activities for Asbestos Abatement Projects & Serve as the Competent Person on Site
- Direct & Support Technicians in Containment Setup, Wet Removal, Encapsulation, Enclosure, HEPA Vacuuming & Decontamination Procedure
- Ensure all Work follows OSHA, EPA, NESHAP, Georgia EPD Regulations, PPE & Respiratory Protection Requirements & Company Procedures
- Set-up & Monitor Negative Pressure Enclosures, Decontamination Units & Air Filtration Equipment
- Maintain Job-site Documentation, Including Photos, Notes, Daily Logs, Sign-in Sheets & Pressure Differential & Monitoring Records
- Oversee Proper Handling, Wetting, Bagging, Labeling & Load-out of Asbestos-Containing Waste
- Communicate Job Progress & Issues to the Project Manager Promptly
- Serve as the Professional Point of Contact for Customers on the job Site, Addressing Questions & Providing Updates
- Conduct Final Cleaning & Visual Inspections & Coordinate with Independent Air Monitors for Clearance Sampling
- Train & Mentor Technicians on Proper Abatement Techniques, Safety Protocols & Customer Service
- Assist Management, Maintain Tools, Vehicles & Equipment Ensuring they are Organized & in Good Working Order
Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Job Requirements:
- HS Diploma Or Equivalent Required
- 2+ Years of Experience in Asbestos Abatement, Mitigation, Restoration or Construction. Prior Leadership Experience is Preferred
- Current EPA/AHERA Asbestos Worker Accreditation is Required & Contractor/Supervisor (Competent Person) Accreditation is Required or must be Obtained Within a set Timeframe
- Must Have Working Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101, EPA NESHAP & George EPD Asbestos Regulations
- Medical Clearance & Respirator Fit Tests are Required or Must be Obtained. Must be Able to Remain Clean-Shaven for Proper Respirator Seal.
- Must be Able to Lift 50 Lbs & Perform Physical Labor in Various Environmental Conditions Including Work Inside Containments in Full PPE
- Must Have Strong Organizational, Leadership & Communication Skills & be Able to Coach & Train Others While Holding Them Accountable to Company Standards
- Must Possess a Valid Driver's License with a Clean Driving Record
- Must be Able to Travel to Job Sites & be Available to Work Evenings, Weekends & in On-Call Situations for Emergency Response Scenarios
