Shift Overview
- 1st and 2nd shift Opening
- 1st shift Monday - Friday (6 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
- Monday – Thursday (2 p.m. – 12 p.m.)
- Occasional mandatory overtime
- $20.00 - $28.00 per hour depending on experience
Summary of Job
At Badgerland Industries welders are responsible for the following tasks but are not limited to setting up their welders, tacking and welding parts together. The person in this position needs to be critical of weld quality and appearance. Cutting, grinding and fitting parts to fit the weldment as required. Once weldment is completed check work for weld quality, clean and deburr welds as necessary. Work together as a team to assemble large weldments. Perform weld rework, repairs, or salvage and rebuild parts as directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Regular attendance is required
- Ability to read and understand blueprints for weld symbols
- Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks
- Comfortably and confidently use and read measuring tools
- Lift light and/or heavy parts
- Willingness to help teammates with larger weldments
- Communicate verbally with co-workers to keep a safe working environment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 – 2 years of welding experience is required
Key abilities needed to complete essential duties
- Perform assigned tasks
- Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills
- Recognize and react to abnormal operating conditions
- Use and wear appropriate PPE
- Read tape measure and other measuring tools, work orders and blueprints effectively
- Follow instructions from Supervisor and co-workers
- Individually lift and manipulate parts weighting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
