Shelter House is a non-profit agency serving domestic violence victims and survivors in Okaloosa and Walton counties. Hours of Work: Flexible; days, evenings, weekends
Location: Fort Walton Beach, Florida

The Community Education & Prevention Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Prevention program at Shelter House and reports to the Associate Director. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate all aspects of the Prevention Program at Shelter House
- Plan and implement primary prevention-based programming for youth and community members and reporting results to management, funders and the community.
- Coordinate the Youth Community Action Team, Project Respect
- Collaborate with other prevention departments and/or organizations state-wide and nationally.
- Identify and build relationships with partners in the community to ensure positive communication and a comprehensive understanding of the prevention and youth program.
- Attend community meetings to promote awareness of Primary Prevention and Youth programs as well as Shelter House's mission to create a violence free world.
- Speak as an advocate for the needs of youth within the community to provide education on primary prevention and youth services.
- Maintain a working knowledge of services offered by Shelter House and community partners to better assist victims.
- Accountable for documenting information as required per agency policy.
- Responsible for participating in and completing all required opportunities for continuing education.
- The service area spans Okaloosa and Walton counties; local and other in-state travel related to the projects is required.

- What you will need to be successful:
- Highly independent and self-motivated.
- Adaptable to change and has the ability to multi-task.
- Flexible in schedule.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Able to build and sustain positive relationships with community partners.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with youth.
- Experience working in the community.
- High school/equivalent diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
