Job Summary
We are seeking a part-time Financial Statement Auditor to join our federal financial statement audit team. You must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited United States college or university and have a broad understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards.
A successful candidate will be receptive to feedback, committed to continuous learning, and motivated to grow within the organization. The ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and approach challenges with a level-headed, team-first attitude is essential.
The position reports to the engagement senior, partner and leadership of the teaming partner/clients and will have direct responsibility for the following:
Skills and Qualifications
- Able to learn to perform audit procedures and document clearly and concisely your audit work, including purpose, source, scope, and conclusion of audit workpapers
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial concepts and identify risks effectively
- Strong organization skills, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to work well by yourself and/or with others
- Strong desire to learn and work as an effective team member to successfully complete your assignment
- Ability to research, learn, and analyze accounting and audit-related issues
- Strong and effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal team skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in accounting
- Potential to pass security clearance - The candidate must be clearable to work on Federal engagements
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have accounting and financial statement audit experience
- Based in the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area for routine on-site work
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
