Lead UST Installer / Construction Foreman
Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Position Description
The Lead UST Installer is a senior field construction professional responsible for leading the installation, repair, removal, and upgrade of underground and aboveground petroleum storage tank systems throughout Colorado. This individual serves as the field leader for complex fuel system construction projects, directing crew activities while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Colorado OPS regulations, OSHA requirements, and company quality standards.
This position is ideal for an experienced UST installer who enjoys leading crews, operating heavy equipment, mentoring junior technicians, solving field challenges, and building high-quality fuel systems for commercial, municipal, aviation, healthcare, and industrial clients.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience installing underground storage tanks, fuel piping systems, containment systems, and associated mechanical equipment while maintaining E.T. Technologies' commitment to safety and craftsmanship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead field crews during UST and AST installations.
- Install fiberglass and steel underground storage tanks.
- Install underground double-wall fiberglass and steel piping systems.
- Install tank sumps, transition sumps, spill buckets, overfill prevention equipment, and monitoring systems.
- Install dispensers, STPs, leak detection equipment, and associated fuel system components.
- Read and interpret engineered plans and specifications.
- Coordinate daily work with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
- Perform layout, grading, trenching, excavation, and backfill operations.
- Operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, compactors, forklifts, and cranes.
- Install shoring systems and perform competent person inspections when qualified.
- Coordinate lifting and rigging operations.
- Troubleshoot installation issues in the field.
- Train and mentor junior construction technicians.
- Ensure compliance with Colorado OPS regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety procedures.
- Complete daily reports, quality documentation, and project records.
- Support environmental remediation and emergency fuel system projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Colorado OPS U-1 Installer Certification (Required)
- Minimum five years of experience leading UST installation projects
- Experience installing fiberglass and steel fuel systems
- Experience reading construction drawings
- Ability to supervise small construction crews
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent safety record
Preferred Qualifications
- U-3 Aboveground Storage Tank Certification
- Class A CDL
- OSHA 30 Construction
- OSHA 40 HAZWOPER
- Confined Space Entry
- First Aid/CPR
- Crane signaling/rigging experience
- Heavy equipment maintenance experience
- Experience with OPW, Franklin Fueling, Veeder-Root, Xerxes, Containment Solutions, and similar petroleum equipment manufacturers
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Climb into excavations and trenches.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
- Travel throughout Colorado.
- Work overtime and occasional weekends when project schedules require.
