Role Overview
As the Senior Auto Liability Special Handling Unit Resolution Manager (SHU SRM), you will serve as our primary owner and expert in responsible for the detection, investigation, handling and resolution of complex, high severity claims, involving suspected misrepresentation, organized activity or material inconsistencies. While this is an individual contributor role, the "Manager" title reflects the seniority, autonomy and strategic oversight required to manage high severity cases and coordinating decisions drive superior claim outcomes across multiple lines of business and with both internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing recommendations and partnering closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including claims examiners, defense counsel, and clients to investigate, escalate and resolve cases involving suspected organized, staged or systemically suspicious activity. You will be expected to apply advanced complex claim expertise, exercise independent judgment and ensure outcomes align with regulatory requirements and ethical claims handling standards.
Your objective is to mitigate financial loss, improve litigation outcomes and strengthen controls for high-exposure clients.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Investigation

Manage assigned high severity claims end-to-end for dedicated clients and jurisdictions

Conduct deep-dive investigations into suspicious claims

Develop investigative strategies, evidence and case direction in coordination with, SIU and other investigative partners.
Fraud Detection & Analysis

Utilize data analytics tools and industry databases to Identify patterns of organized activity, staged events, repeat actors or systemic padding using analytics tools and industry databases.

Assess severity and risk by determining escalation, referral or litigation strategy.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

Ensure all investigative and claim handling activities comply with state and federal reporting, regulatory and documentation requirements.
Subject Matter Leadership

Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the broader to Claims team leadership, Supervisors and client stakeholders.

Provide guidance to adjusters on fraud indicators and "red flag" recognition.

Contribute insights, trends and best practices to strengthen broader detection and prevention efforts.
About You
Required Qualifications
Experience
-
7–10+ years of experience in insurance claims investigation, complex claim handling, SIU, law enforcement (white-collar/fraud units), or a related investigative field.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, finance, risk management, or a related discipline (preferred).
Certifications
-
Professional designation such as CIFI (Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator), or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or similar designation is highly strongly preferred.
