Join a Growing Land Development Team
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer (EIT) or early-career Professional Engineer (PE) to join a well-established and growing civil engineering consulting firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to expand their technical expertise, take on greater project responsibility, and work alongside experienced Professional Engineers on a wide variety of land development projects.
In this role, you will contribute to every phase of project delivery—from site design and stormwater management to permitting and construction support—while gaining valuable exposure to client interaction and project coordination.
What You'll Do
- Prepare site development and construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading plans, alignments, pipe networks, surfaces, and utility layouts.
- Design water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems in accordance with municipal standards and utility requirements.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including stormwater management and detention/retention facility design using HydroCAD or similar software.
- Assist with engineering reports, drainage studies, and technical documentation for permitting and regulatory approvals.
- Respond to agency review comments and support the entitlement and permitting process.
- Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical consultants, utility providers, and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and proposal preparation.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and construction submittals, and participate in occasional site visits during construction.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers while continuing to grow your technical and project management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Active Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (or PE with comparable experience).
- 1–5 years of experience in land development or site civil engineering.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surfaces, grading, alignments, and pipe networks.
- Experience with HydroCAD or similar stormwater modeling software is preferred.
- Understanding of local permitting processes, utility design, and site development principles.
- Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
