Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary tests.
- Assist optometrists during eye exams by setting up equipment, adjusting lenses, and recording findings accurately.
- Conduct optical measurements such as pupillary distance, corneal topography, and lensometry to assist in lens fitting and prescriptions.
- Maintain and calibrate optical equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and safety standards are met.
- Manage patient medical records within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care, eyewear options, and treatment plans based on their specific needs.
- Support inventory management by ordering optical supplies, verifying stock levels, and documenting usage for efficient clinic operations.
