We are looking for a class A CDL solo driver willing to serve as a backup driver for our team. We have consistent freight that picks up in middle Tennessee that goes out and returns daily. This Is primarily drop and hook work. You are paid a daily rate for days that you don't have a run scheduled. You are paid a percentage of the load on days when you do make a run. You will always be paid the higher of the two. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE NOT PAID FOR DAYS YOU REQUEST OFF.
YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT FOR THIS POSITION IF:
- If you are comfortable with working between 0 and 6 days per week.
- You are flexible enough to run days or nights.
- You have good mechanical knowledge of semi trucks.
LANE DETAILS:
- This is backup/ spot freight.
- These are round trip lanes that run year-round.
- Driver needs to be flexible as this is an on-call position.
- You may be called to take equipment to shops for service or relocate equipment as needed.
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS:
- Class A CDL
- Active medical card
- 2 years of verifiable OTR work history
- Ability to pass drug screen and PSP report
- Must be willing to drive in all weather conditions
- Must comfortable with day driving and night driving
- Must be willing to work on Saturdays
- No DUI's
- No accidents in the past three years
- No more than two moving violations in the past three years
PAY:
- Base salary is $250 per day on days where YOU ARE AVAILABLE FOR WORK, but no runs are made.
- Drivers can earn up to 30% of the gross load pay for loads that you run.
