Location: Rye Leawood (transitioning to Cornflower Baked Goods next door upon opening in late spring 2026)

About the Role
Our restaurant is expanding with the opening of Cornflower Baked Goods, located next door to our Rye Leawood restaurant, in Summer 2026. We are beginning to grow our bakery team in preparation for this exciting expansion.
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Pastry Cook/Baker to oversee our morning bake schedule and help guide our production team. This role is responsible for executing daily production, maintaining product quality and consistency, and ensuring the kitchen is organized, efficient, and ready for service each day.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in an early-morning environment, and has strong experience in high-volume baking and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake pastries, breads, desserts, and other menu items according to recipes and standards
- Assist with daily production, prep lists, and opening needs
- Maintain consistency in quality, portioning, presentation, and timing
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, labeling, and storage procedures
- Support the team with prep, special orders, and seasonal menu items as needed
- Communicate clearly with managers and teammates throughout the shift
- Prepare doughs, batters, and baked goods according to recipes and production schedules
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate inventory needs
- Assist with prep and planning for the following day’s production
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional baking experience (artisan or production bakery preferred)
- Previous leadership or lead baker experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of fermentation, dough handling, and baking techniques
- Ability to work early morning shifts reliably
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Passion for quality baked goods and teamwork

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
