A postdoctoral position is available in the Tulane University Department of Pharmacology to conduct NIH-funded research on estrogen receptor signal transduction, aging, and arterial stiffening. The laboratory of Dr. Sarah Lindsey takes an integrative approach by utilizing in vitro cell culture, ex vivo isolated vessels, and in vivo analysis of rodent models. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will independently conduct experiments to determine how sex hormones impact mitochondrial function and cardiometabolic health. The Post-Doctoral Fellow should have experience with ultrasound imaging, working with rodent models, mitochondrial function techniques and should be able to collect and analyze data, compose manuscripts for publication, write and submit grants, supervise and train students in lab techniques and experiments, and help with lab maintenance and ordering of supplies. Expertise with microphysiological systems and interactions with immune and adipose tissues is an added strength.
Applicants should have a strong background in cardiovascular sciences and preference will be given to individuals with experience in the molecular signaling pathways of estrogen.
