Duties
- Install, configure, and test various security systems such as alarm panels, CCTV cameras, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and fire alarm systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance across multiple sites.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately set up low voltage cabling and electrical components.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during installation and repair tasks.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide tailored system design solutions.
- Integrate remote access software for system monitoring and management.
- Document all work performed through detailed reports, including system configurations, repairs, and upgrades.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in security or alarm systems installation and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with various hand tools, power tools, and cabling techniques.
- Solid understanding of computer networking, telecommunication systems, and computer hardware related to security technology.
- Familiarity with schematics, system design principles, NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, and low voltage wiring practices.
- Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras and sensors used in intrusion detection.
- Electrical experience with wiring for fire alarms, access control systems, and other security devices.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and construction plans accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex security systems efficiently.
