Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Polymer Chemist / R&D Chemist to support research and development activities involving polymer synthesis, chemical formulations, and material characterization. This is an onsite laboratory role requiring strong wet-lab experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct wet-lab experiments involving chemical and polymer synthesis to support R&D projects.
- Prepare, handle, and manage chemical formulations, resins, and laboratory solutions.
- Design experiments and apply problem-solving techniques to achieve project objectives.
- Perform chemical characterization using techniques such as FTIR, DSC, titration, and polymer structure-property testing.
- Analyze experimental data and provide clear technical conclusions.
- Troubleshoot reaction, formulation, and material-performance issues.
- Develop, document, and maintain test methods, protocols, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures while working with hazardous chemicals.
- Support GMP compliance, audit-ready documentation practices, and laboratory operations.
- Assist with lab equipment and process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with wet chemistry, polymer synthesis, and formulation development.
- Experience handling hazardous chemicals and following laboratory safety protocols.
- Familiarity with FTIR, DSC, titration, and other chemical characterization techniques.
- Strong experimental design, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with polyurethane or isocyanate chemistry.
- Experience in adhesives, coatings, resins, elastomers, or specialty polymers.
- Knowledge of GMP, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated laboratory environments.
- Experience supporting IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities.
- Prior laboratory management or technical documentation experience.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
