Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Safety Specialist to champion safety excellence across our construction projects. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs that ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Your expertise will foster a culture of safety awareness, minimize risks, and promote occupational health on construction sites. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor construction safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), NEC (National Electrical Code), and other industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards related to electrical safety procedures, construction workplace safety regulations, and general site conditions.
- Lead safety training sessions for construction teams, including first aid and CPR certification, hazard recognition, and emergency response procedures.
- Manage risk assessments and mitigation strategies to prevent accidents related to occupational health issues, electrical systems, and construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including OSHA regulations, Workers' Compensation policies, and construction management software protocols.
- Oversee incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with project managers and team leaders to promote a culture of safety management and regulatory compliance across all construction sites.
Experience
- Proven experience working in construction site environments with a strong understanding of construction management practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction safety management, risk management, occupational health, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards, ANSI standards, NFPA standards, NEC codes, and OSHA’s occupational health regulations.
- Experience implementing safety training programs and conducting safety audits on active construction sites.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence teams towards safe work practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and construction management software for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Prior experience in electrical safety procedures and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) programs is highly desirable.
