AGL Welding Supply Co, Inc. a leading regional distributor of compressed medical, industrial and specialty gases is looking for a Dispatcher. The successful Dispatcher will be responsible for overseeing all product deliveries and returns by supervising driver dispatching, load and unload activities. The dispatcher communicates with the other departments to ensure product availability and paperwork is correct for daily deliveries. This position requires problem solving, and the ability to multitask under pressure.
Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Schedule or dispatch drivers according to delivery routes, specifications, or needs that meet customer request or requirements.
- Review orders to determine work sequences and shipping dates, types, volumes or destinations.
- Create preliminary load sheets for each route to allow drivers to accurately load trucks.
- Adjust loads as required.
- Coach new hire drivers and ensure open communication to develop trust and teamwork.
- Direct workers in moving, loading, strapping, unstrapping and unloading of cylinder products.
- Verify and oversee driver's loads on a daily basis by verifying load sheet against tickets pre and post deliveries.
- Ensure process flow of DVIR for maintenance repairs and report filing. Coordinate with fleet maintenance regarding necessary repairs of vehicles based on the daily inspection reports.
- Maintain mileage records and provide the information to senior management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A valid CDL License with HAZMAT endorsement
- Must have a valid DOT Medical card
- Minimum of 3 years experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- General understanding of MS Office suite.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of paperwork.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
