Without Walls Day Habilitation/Supplemental Day Habilitation Supervisor needed to supervise Harris Hands Day and Supplemental Day Hab program for individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities in accordance with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Day Habilitation guidelines and regulations. The ideal candidate must be reliable, flexible, have the ability to multi task, be an effective communicator, be responsive, have the ability to drive 15 passenger van and must be comfortable providing program coverage when needed.
This program requires attention and as the supervisor you will spend a substantial amount of time away from your desk providing leadership and oversight to the staff, and individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the Day and Supplemental Day Habilitation programs.
- Provide staff supervision and oversight of the program to ensure a safe and productive program for participants.
- Identify volunteer and recreational opportunities for individuals in the program.
- Develop monthly recreational Day and Supplemental Day Habilitation program calendars.
- Responsible for developing daily staff assignment sheets.
- Ensure OPWDD/OMIG /Medicaid regulatory compliance with case files.
- Promote and market the DH Department.
- Develop and implement Day Habilitation and Supplemental Day Habilitation plans in a timely manner.
- Attend and contribute to the Harris Hands Community Services Leadership team
- Responsible for Staff Action plans and Life plan, meetings.
- Working Knowledge of CHOICES, THERAP and ADP.
- Foster a positive work environment.
- Work collaboratively with other managers and teams
- Assist with other duties as needed
- Provide coverage when needed.
This is an Exempt position which will require the hired candidate to work beyond the 40 hours per week. Overtime pay will not be provided.
Qualification: A bachelor's degree is required and 3 years’ experience working in a Day or Residential Habilitation program along with 2 years supervisory experience within a Day services or Residential services department required. Strong leadership skills required. A clean and valid NYS Driver’s license and ability to drive a 15 passenger van. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel). This position requires a person with flexibility regarding their time and availability as well as knowledge of identifying vehicle maintenance needs to report to upper management when needs arise.
