Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Business Banking Development Officer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial sales, underwriting, and credit analysis, with a passion for helping clients navigate the loan process. As a Business Banking Development Officer, you will be responsible for building both commercial and retail relationships, evaluating and approving loan applications, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Interview prospective commercial and consumer loan customers and assess and analyze loan applications to determine creditworthiness and eligibility.
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and underwriting to evaluate risk factors.
- Guide clients through the loan process, explaining options and answering questions.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other legal requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FNMA, HMDA, and other pertinent lending guidelines and banking standards.
- Collaborate with other financial professionals to facilitate smooth loan processing.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to generate new business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Monitor loan portfolios and follow up on late payments and documentation exceptions
- Other duties as required
Experience
- Proven experience in financial sales as a Loan Officer is preferred.
- Successful experience with developing a lending portfolio
- Familiarity with loan processing procedures and underwriting standards is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed credit analysis.
- Proficient in using accounting software and tools relevant to the lending industry.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience complying with the Fair Credit Standards Act as well as other lending regulations
