Full Job Description

The Production Associate is an entry-level position responsible for supporting fabrication operations by moving heavy raw materials, operating basic hand and power tools, and assisting with the preparation and assembly of fabricated products. This position assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized shop floor. The Production Associate works closely with fabricators and other personnel and departments to support production schedules and ensure efficient workflow throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Load, unload, and transport raw materials, metal parts, and finished goods using forklifts, overhead cranes, manual dollies, or other material handling equipment.
Assist lead fabricators by gathering necessary tools, setting up workstations, and organizing materials and supplies for specific projects.
Grind, sand, cut, and drill metal parts to prepare them for welding, fabrication, painting, or assembly operations.
Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Clean work areas, maintain tools, remove scrap materials, and assist with routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
Hold, position, or clamp materials and components in place during fabrication and assembly processes.
Read basic blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions.
Assist with simple layouts, measurements, and assembly tasks as directed.
Perform a variety of tasks across multiple departments on a routine basis to support production demands, workflow requirements, and operational efficiency. Adapt to changing priorities and assist in fabrication, warehouse, shipping, receiving, material handling, assembly, and other shop functions as assigned.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and shop safety practices.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn multiple job functions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with coworkers and supervisors.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred but not required. 1-2 years of manufacturing, fabrication, or related industrial experience preferred.
